The Central Cybersecurity and Informatization Commission has issued the "Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of Internet and Information Enterprises (2026-2030)," calling for stronger cyber rule of law and accelerated legislation in emerging areas including artificial intelligence, anti-cyber violence, the digital economy, online platforms and blockchain. The plan supports revising the "Internet Information Service Management Measures," improving rules for internet information services, "self-media" management and algorithm governance, and advancing the Telecommunications Law, Cybercrime Prevention Law and Cybersecurity Level Protection Regulations. It also calls for supporting regulations for the "Regulations on the Protection of Minors Online" and "Regulations on the Management of Cyber Data Security," while urging standardized administrative inspections that minimize disruption to companies' normal operations. Authorities are also directed to adapt supervision and enforcement to new characteristics of internet governance and crack down severely on illegal and irregular online activities.
