MAGA Inc., the super PAC associated with President Donald Trump, increased its cash on hand by more than $3 million in July to over $403 million, according to Federal Election Commission figures released late Thursday, while spending nothing on behalf of Republican candidates. The group also made no independent expenditures, the main mechanism super PACs use to support candidates, in the weeks afterward. Its only such spending this year was $18,000 on text messages for a Georgia special election in March. The decision to keep its funds untouched has heightened concern among Republicans about Texas, where GOP Senate nominee Ken Paxton is polling one point ahead of Democrat James Talarico and the race was moved to toss-up from lean Republican by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. Trump endorsed Paxton in May after he defeated incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a prolific fundraiser, and Republican donors and operatives say Trump should finance a campaign that now puts a previously safe seat at risk. MAGA Inc. spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer said the group was committed to retaining and expanding Republican majorities in Congress but would not disclose its plans. Trump and James Blair, his chief political director, have said the PAC will spend in the 2026 midterms without providing a timeline or targeting details. Republican donors instead want to prioritize Senate contests in Michigan, Alaska, Maine, Ohio, Georgia and North Carolina. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is spending in eight general-election races, excluding Texas for now, though it plans to establish a joint fundraising committee with Paxton.
