The personal-consumption expenditures price index rose 0.2% in July, reversing a 0.1% decline in June, the Commerce Department said. The Fed’s preferred gauge of monthly price increases remains above the central bank’s preferred target range. Core PCE, which excludes volatile goods and energy categories, also rose 0.2%.
