Taiwan’s benchmark TAIEX rose 373 points, or 0.8%, to 46,349 in Friday morning trading, marking its fourth consecutive session of gains. The index reached its highest level since July 6, supported mainly by electronic technology, finance, technology services and health technology stocks after Wall Street’s technology sector rallied overnight following solid Nvidia earnings. TSMC gained 0.6%, MediaTek climbed 1.9%, Delta Electronics advanced 2.2% and Nanya Technology rose 0.2%. Investors were awaiting a speech by Fed Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole Symposium for guidance on the Federal Reserve’s monetary-policy decision at its upcoming meeting.
