Cronos Network has resumed block production and returned to full network operation after validators paused the chain following an exploit affecting the Tectonic protocol. Emergency consensus measures were used to protect user funds, and the chain state was rolled back to before the Tectonic exploit on Aug. 30. Block production restarted at 23:49:01 UTC on Aug. 30 from block height 90,896,189. Node operators can restart using Cronos v1.7.8 and the latest mainnet snapshot. The network remains under continuous monitoring, while some protocols, RPC (remote procedure call) providers, block explorers and cross-chain bridges are expected to take longer to recover. Cronos said it will publish a full post-incident review after confirming network stability.
