Italy's producer prices rose 7.8% year-on-year in July 2026, accelerating from a 5.8% increase in June and reaching their highest level since February 2023. Domestic-market prices increased 9.3%, up from 6.8%, as electricity and gas supply prices jumped 14.5%, compared with 8.9% in June. Among manufacturing activities, coke and refined petroleum products recorded the largest annual increase at 54.0%, followed by chemicals at 9.6% and metallurgy and fabricated metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, at 7.7%. Excluding energy, domestic producer prices rose 3.3%, compared with 2.9% in June. Foreign-market prices increased 3.6%, up from 3.1%, with growth in both euro-area markets, at 3.7% versus 3.4%, and non-euro-area markets, at 3.5% versus 2.8%. On a monthly basis, producer prices jumped 2.4% in July after remaining flat in June.
