The Seoul Bankruptcy Court approved Homeplus’s corporate rehabilitation plan on Wednesday, allowing the hypermarket to avoid bankruptcy and move toward exiting court receivership. Secured creditors, unsecured creditors and shareholders voted separately at a same-day meeting. Approval required more than 75% support from secured creditors, 66.7% from unsecured creditors and 50% from shareholders. Secured creditors backed the plan unanimously, while the court’s declaration also cited 75.90% approval in another voting result.
