Two Filipino seafarers were killed in a security incident involving Bahri’s oil tanker SIDR while it transited the Strait of Hormuz at around 11.40 p.m. local time on Monday, the Saudi national shipping company said Wednesday. Bahri did not disclose the incident’s nature or cause. It said it remains in contact with the vessel, is coordinating with relevant authorities and maritime industry stakeholders, and is monitoring developments. The company reaffirmed that employee safety, security and environmental protection remain priorities.
