Tving will rebuild its security framework after 39.54 million account details were leaked, increasing information security investment to approximately four times the previous five-year level by 2030 and tripling its specialized security workforce over the next five years. The company will adopt a zero-trust framework (security based on continuous verification), strengthen authentication and access controls, and improve AI-based anomaly detection and real-time response. A new Information Security Innovation Advisory Committee will report directly to CEO Choi Joo-hee, while security governance will be reinforced around the CEO, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Privacy Officer (CPO). Affected customers will receive one year of safety insurance covering up to 3 million Korean won per person for cyber financial fraud linked to hacking or phishing, plus an automatic premium viewing upgrade and a choice of 5,000 Korean won in Tving points, a one-month Wavve ad-supported subscription or a CGV discount coupon. Applications will be accepted from September 7 to 30, with benefits taking effect October 6.
