Armenia’s annual inflation rate eased to 4.4% in August 2026 from 4.5% in July, its lowest level since May. Price growth slowed for food and non-alcoholic beverages, clothing and footwear, furnishings and household equipment, and communication, while recreation and culture prices were unchanged after a 0.1% increase in July. Inflation accelerated for housing and utilities, health, miscellaneous goods and services, and restaurants and hotels. Transport costs rose 2.4% after falling 1.2% in July. Inflation was unchanged for alcoholic beverages and tobacco at 7.5% and for education at 8.3%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.2% in August, reversing July’s 1.4% decline and ending three consecutive months of deflation.
