Crypto’s total market value reached $2.73 trillion Thursday as easing expectations for another Federal Reserve rate increase triggered a broad risk-on move. Bitcoin climbed roughly 4.8% to $81,364, while Ethereum moved above $2,500, Solana reclaimed $104, BNB traded around $720 and XRP rose roughly 8% to 9% toward $1.46. ZIG jumped 18.75% and ZEC gained 18.06%, with double-digit advances spreading across many altcoins. Federal Reserve Gov. Christopher Waller signaled that cooling inflation could lead him to support keeping the federal funds rate at 3.50% to 3.75% at the Sept. 15-16 meeting. Polymarket odds of a September rate increase fell from roughly 59% Wednesday to 42% after his remarks, while Treasury yields eased and gold gained about 2%. Institutional flows also supported the market: U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $101 million in net inflows Sept. 2 after $236 million in outflows the previous day, and August generated about $3.5 billion in net inflows, the funds’ strongest month of 2026. Strategy bought 4,603 BTC for $370 million at an average price of $80,318 after a two-month break, bringing its holdings to 845,050 BTC. Traders now await August CPI data on Sept. 11, which could influence expectations for the Fed’s next decision and determine whether the rally has further momentum.
