Bitcoin rallied on Thursday, September 3, breaking above $80,000 and reaching $81,812.31, according to Coinbase data from TradingView. The cryptocurrency was up more than 6.3% after falling to $76,929.29 earlier in the day. Analysts attributed the move largely to Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller, who said he would be inclined to support keeping benchmark interest rates unchanged if incoming inflation data continued to show disinflation. His comments reduced expectations of another rate hike, while Treasury yields fell and the U.S. dollar weakened, creating more supportive conditions for Bitcoin and other risk assets. Analysts also cited reported buying by MicroStrategy, including a reported $370 million resumption, as well as $100 million in ETF inflows and over-the-counter activity. Looking ahead, Paul Howard of Wincent said Bitcoin's prospects would depend partly on the upcoming CLARITY Act and argued that on-chain data and a memecoin revival on the RobinHood chain could support a steady climb toward $100,000 before year-end.
