South Korean retailers are preparing for Chuseok (South Korea's autumn harvest holiday) by competing on product quality and shopping convenience rather than discounts alone. CJ ONSTYLE opened The Master, a premium food hall, on the 4th, sourcing domestic and imported products according to factors such as origin, producer, variety and production method. Its offerings include premium Korean beef, regional foods, imported specialties and products from overseas restaurants. The retailer is also offering daily Chuseok benefits worth up to 30% through the 22nd. Shinsegae Live Shopping has organized its Chuseok event around recipients, preparation needs and price ranges, while allowing selected single orders to be split between two delivery addresses. Event purchases earn 7% in reward points, with additional points for multiple products.
