Solana’s token rent reduction is now live on mainnet Beta, with Anza activating the first step of proposal SIMD-0437 at epoch 1028. The change lowers the requirement from 6960 to 6333 lamports per byte, where lamports are Solana’s smallest unit. Further feature gates will activate after checks assess state growth under current rent levels, with the requirement eventually set to decline gradually to 696 lamports per byte.
