Pakistan has warned Iran to rein in its Yemeni Houthi allies after attacks on Saudi Arabia wounded 73 people, according to Saudi, Pakistani and Iranian sources. The intervention reflects Islamabad's defense pact with Saudi Arabia and Turkey and seeks to prevent the proxy conflict from widening into a regional crisis. Pakistani officials said any military involvement would be limited to protecting Saudi territory, while Iran said it does not control the Houthis. Iranian sources, however, said Tehran had recently instructed the Houthis to attack Saudi Arabia and provided funding, weapons and coordination support. The escalation is unfolding alongside the largest declared wave of reciprocal attacks between Iran and the United States on Gulf shipping since their war began, threatening global energy supplies. Saudi Arabia is expected to keep its response focused on the Houthis, while President Donald Trump appears committed to maintaining the U.S. blockade until Iran reaches an agreement with Washington. Qatar is exploring proposals to revive negotiations.
