European Central Bank policymakers expect to tighten monetary policy further in the coming months as they respond to inflation driven higher by the war and rising gas and oil prices. Two sources said another move could come as soon as the ECB's next meeting on Oct. 29, although the timing would depend on incoming economic data and developments in Iran. The ECB raised borrowing costs for the second time this year on Thursday and warned that price pressures could persist. ECB President Christine Lagarde said she could not predict the next move and reiterated that decisions would be made meeting by meeting and remain data-dependent. An ECB spokesperson declined to comment.
