HIVE Digital Technologies said its Bitcoin-mining and GPU-cloud businesses generated more than $1 million in combined average daily revenue from Aug. 21 through Sept. 10. GPU cloud contributed about $100,000 a day, leaving Bitcoin mining responsible for more than nine-tenths of the reported total. The figures are preliminary, unaudited management estimates influenced by Bitcoin prices, network difficulty and operating conditions. HIVE said it mined an average of about 12 Bitcoin daily during the period, equivalent to roughly 2% of global network production. The company also said it had closed more than $600 million in GPU-cloud total contract value year to date, though that measure combines signed customer agreements and letters of intent and is not recognized revenue or a guarantee of future revenue. The disclosure follows August reports of a $350 million AI cloud agreement and a related $185 million GPU buildout. HIVE is evaluating whether to repurpose mining facilities for high-performance computing, the data-intensive infrastructure used for services such as AI, after saying those operations contributed less than 5% of the company's global daily revenue in August. The conversion is not complete, and HIVE cautioned that the wind-down and repurposing may not proceed as planned. The update shows AI cloud beginning to generate operating revenue while Bitcoin mining remains the company's primary financial engine.
