Circle Internet Group shares ended Friday at $90.60, gaining 0.31% on the day but losing 7.53% over the trading week. The stock traded between $90.14 and $95.80 during the session, while its monthly advance remained above 26%. Circle also unveiled its $400 million acquisition of Singapore-headquartered payments platform Tazapay, seeking to expand USDC adoption in developing economies where Tether’s USDT has a stronger position. Tazapay adds regulatory licenses, banking partnerships and localized payment systems across more than 100 countries, including Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. The transaction is intended to address gaps in Circle Payments Network, Circle’s blockchain-based settlement network, by adding local compliance capabilities such as know-your-customer procedures and regional disbursements. Markets assign an 86% probability to a 25 basis point Federal Reserve rate increase at the September 15-16 policy meeting, after August core inflation reached 0.3% against a 0.2% consensus estimate. Higher rates would support returns on Circle’s reserve portfolio, which generated $668 million in the second quarter, or 95.2% of quarterly revenue. Average USDC outstanding rose 25.2% year over year, although a 66 basis point decline in yield partly offset the circulation increase. Technically, $90 is the key support level, with a break potentially directing selling toward $87.14. Bulls need to reclaim $95 and then $100, while sustained accumulation above $100 could open a path toward $103-$105, followed by $107 and $110. Upcoming catalysts include Wednesday’s Federal Reserve announcement, Tuesday’s Senate vote on the CLARITY Act and broader cryptocurrency market trends.
