Ernexa Therapeutics (Nasdaq: ERNA) reported positive preliminary preclinical results for ERNA-201, an allogeneic induced mesenchymal stem cell therapy engineered to express anti-inflammatory factors. In the collagen-induced arthritis model, several lead candidates reduced disease severity and improved clinical arthritis scores versus untreated controls. The company said the findings provide proof of concept that its synthetic iMSC platform can deliver engineered therapeutic factors beyond oncology. Ernexa will pause additional preclinical spending on ERNA-201 while preserving the program and directing near-term capital and operational resources to ERNA-101, its lead oncology candidate for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. ERNA-101 is designed to express an IL-7/IL-15 fusion cytokine and is targeted for a first-in-human study following a planned FDA IND submission in Q4 2026. Clinical data from the program are currently expected in Q4 2027. The company also plans to expand its oncology pipeline, develop next-generation synthetic iMSC candidates, evaluate strategic collaborations and maintain milestone-focused capital allocation.
