Apple’s streaming service strengthened its awards-show performance as "Widow’s Bay" won 14 Emmys at Monday night’s ceremony. The result helped Apple have the most awarded comedy for a second straight season, while the company recorded 28 wins this year, ahead of Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO Max with 21 and Netflix with 16, Variety reported. Apple’s streaming business, launched in 2019, has raised its monthly price four times over the last four years, reaching $14.99 in August 2026. The service has expanded its original programming and secured live-sports rights including Major League Soccer, Major League Baseball and Formula 1. Apple does not separately report the platform’s performance, but the price increases and awards success could support profitability, subscriber growth and renewal rates. The service still lacks a lower-cost ad-supported tier, which could become another avenue for attracting subscribers. At the Emmy event, Apple CEO John Ternus also demonstrated the upcoming iPhone Duo foldable smartphone to Deadline.
