Ethereum fell below the $2,400 support level after the Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act in a 49–50 vote, extending a broader crypto selloff that pushed Bitcoin below $75,000. ETH had been testing $2,600 only days earlier, with traders watching for a move toward $3,000. The decline also coincided with a leverage flush, or rapid forced position closures, that liquidated roughly $300 million in crypto long positions within minutes. Institutional demand weakened as Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs recorded about $592 million in combined net outflows on Sept. 15, including roughly $141 million from Ethereum funds. ETH must reclaim $2,400 and clear resistance at $2,465–$2,526 to improve the prospects of a return toward $2,600; otherwise, the $2,300 area could become the next focus for sellers.
