Lawmaker Lee Jong-bae of the People Power Party criticized President Lee Jae Myung’s press conference on the 18th, accusing the administration of failing on the livelihood economy, state affairs and real estate policy. He said Seoul-area property prices had reached unprecedented levels and that the average apartment jeonse price exceeded 600 million Korean won. Lee also questioned the president’s comments on removing special counsel provisions from an indictment cancellation clause, arguing that President Lee Jae Myung should instead declare that he would stand trial again. He attributed part of the administration’s failure to presidential micromanagement, including involvement in valley maintenance and farmland surveys that he said should be handled by local officials.
