U.S. Treasury yields climbed again on Friday as equities traded mixed, but crypto assets rebounded independently, with BTC rising about 5.9% and briefly exceeding $81,000 after moving from roughly $76,000 above $80,000. The 2-year Treasury yield reached 4.74%, its highest level since July 2024, while the 10-year yield briefly returned above 5%. Oil prices fell but remained above $100, keeping inflation and interest-rate pressures elevated after the Fed’s rate hike. BTC held around $80,000-$81,000 over the weekend, with the market watching whether $80,000 becomes support or whether a move above $82,000-$83,000 extends the rebound. Crypto-linked equities also rallied, led by Strategy, Coinbase and Robinhood. The SEC’s five-year Innovation Exemption, introduced on September 17, allowed eligible platforms for the first time to facilitate on-chain trading of tokenized U.S. equities backed by real shares. Coinbase Derivatives, Kalshi and Bitnomial subsequently filed or advanced products involving single-stock perpetual futures, although the offerings remain under regulatory review. RWA (real-world assets) and privacy projects led the altcoin market, while the week’s major industry developments included proposed U.S. crypto rules, Hong Kong’s planned wholesale CBDC, Vietnam’s planned 2026 crypto-service licenses, Deutsche Bank’s planned digital-asset custody services and Bastion’s trust-bank approval. The outlook also includes ZRO and BR token unlocks worth approximately $26.45 million and $10.40 million, respectively.
