Strategy Inc. acquired 950 bitcoin for $75.7 million and repurchased $174 million of its variable-rate STRC preferred stock during the week of September 14–20, 2026, according to a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on September 21. The bitcoin purchases averaged $79,670 per coin, including fees, lifting Strategy’s holdings to 846,000 bitcoin acquired for $63.80 billion at an average cost of $75,416. The company funded both transactions with USD Cash and used $57.4 million from its USD Reserve for preferred dividends and interest payments. As of September 20, the USD Reserve was $5.04 billion and USD Cash was $1.05 billion, giving Strategy $6.09 billion in combined USD assets. No shares were sold through its at-the-market equity program during the period. The company had $875.1 million remaining under its digital credit securities repurchase program and an additional $1 billion authorized for Class A common stock. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor disclosed the figures on X, citing USD duration of 3.8 years and STRC’s BTC credit of 53 basis points under assumptions of a 10 percent annualized bitcoin return, 40 percent volatility and an $81,200 bitcoin price. The latest activity followed several weeks in which Strategy emphasized preferred-stock repurchases while pausing or limiting bitcoin purchases. STRC, Strategy’s Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, is designed to trade near its $100 stated amount through adjustable dividend rates. Strategy said the September 21 filing did not indicate changes to the Digital Credit Capital Framework adopted by its board, while its Regulation FD release directed investors to the company’s website dashboard for continuing disclosures.
