Apple began selling its latest Mac mini and Mac Studio in Hong Kong and other markets on September 23, with prices ranging from HK$7,299 for the entry-level M6 Mac mini to HK$44,999 for the M5 Ultra Mac Studio. The machines feature next-generation GPUs with neural network accelerators in every core, advanced CPUs and Neural Engines for on-device AI computing, allowing multiple AI inference tasks without an internet connection. Separately, Apple is developing prototypes of a screenless health and fitness band similar to Whoop’s device. The project remains in an early internal phase called technology investigation, has senior leadership support, and would not launch before 2028 if approved. Apple has also shelved a reported camera-equipped AI necklace while shifting its wearables strategy toward AI features in the Apple Watch, camera-equipped AirPods and smart glasses expected in 2027. The Apple Watch remains the core of the company’s wearable ecosystem in the near term.
