Firmus Technologies has secured a $10 billion debt facility arranged by Blackstone and Coatue to finance an expansion into AI data centers. The Australian company, which began as a Bitcoin-mining and cooling specialist in Tasmania in 2019, plans to use most of the financing to purchase Nvidia AI accelerators, or GPU hardware designed for AI workloads. Its centerpiece is a 360-megawatt campus in Batam, Indonesia, where Firmus plans to deploy up to 170,000 chips, with deliveries expected through 2027 and 2028 and operations targeted to begin in the first quarter of 2027. The project is an eight-year partnership with Nvidia that includes hardware sales and revenue sharing from cloud services. Firmus says the campus has between $25 billion and $30 billion in committed offtake over its first six years of operation. The debt facility follows equity financings that valued the company at $5.5 billion in April 2026 and more than $10.5 billion in August 2026.
