Switzerland’s KOF Economic Barometer climbed to 109.1 in September 2026 from a revised 107.5 in August, exceeding the market expectation of 106. The sixth consecutive monthly increase lifted the indicator to its highest level since September 2021 and pointed to a continued improvement in the Swiss economic outlook. Gains came from manufacturing, services and construction, especially exports, inventories and the general business outlook. Employment prospects remained under pressure, while foreign demand and financial and insurance services weakened slightly. Within manufacturing, chemical and pharmaceutical, paper and printing, and textile industries performed particularly well.
