President Trump said Tuesday that his administration would not hamper the artificial-intelligence industry with regulations, reinforcing a light-touch approach as Silicon Valley and the public press for new guardrails. Speaking at an event in Washington to unveil America.gov, a website built with AI to make federal government services easier for citizens to access, he said, "I will never stifle the growth of technology that will be bigger than the industrial revolution." Trump also said the Justice Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation and existing authorities are sufficient to hold accountable bad actors who use AI for nefarious purposes.
