Nvidia’s Tuesday reversal increased attention on the GraniteShares 2x Short NVDA Daily ETF, which seeks to deliver twice the opposite of Nvidia’s daily percentage move before fees and expenses. The ETF traded about 109.8 million shares Monday, ranking among the most active U.S. ETFs, while Nvidia gained 1.68% to $228.86 on more than 142 million shares after announcing an additional $150 billion buyback authorization. That approval lifted Nvidia’s remaining repurchase authorization to $235 billion. Nvidia then came under pressure as technology stocks weakened following a sharp rise in Treasury yields, a move that can produce an amplified one-session gain for NVD. The stock also faced reports that it was exploring insurer partnerships for loans backed by its AI chips, potentially helping smaller cloud providers finance hardware. Nvidia separately unveiled its Open Agent Safety Platform, combining OpenShell software with a Sentry reference system to monitor and contain rogue AI agents, with more than 100 participating organizations identified, including Microsoft Corp, JPMorgan, Salesforce Inc and SpaceX’s SpaceXAI. NVD’s average monthly volume is about 84 million shares, but it has fallen roughly 48% year to date. The activity highlights traders expressing both bullish and bearish views around Nvidia rather than necessarily abandoning the stock.
