President Trump has again said every American could receive a $5,000 Trump Dividend if Republicans win the November midterms and secure a full Republican sweep of Congress. The proposal would cover roughly 240 million to 250 million eligible adults and cost more than $1.2 trillion, well above the roughly $3,200 per-adult total distributed through multiple COVID-era payments. Cleveland Fed research found that earlier $1,200 checks increased Bitcoin buying volume by 3.8% and Bitcoin’s price by 0.7%, with only 0.02% of the funds entering BTC. BeInCrypto has identified potential upside because Bitcoin buying rose after both Trump- and Biden-era stimulus rounds. Investor Anthony Pompliano has argued that larger payments would lift Bitcoin, gold and land prices. With Bitcoin near $85,000, the proposed liquidity injection could plausibly push it toward $95,000 to $100,000 if the payments are approved and delivered, particularly given broader ETF access and institutional demand. However, crypto markets are currently viewed as more sensitive to macroeconomic conditions than U.S. elections. A Democratic victory could also be bullish for crypto and financial markets if it ended Trump’s war on Iran, although prediction markets cast doubt on that outcome. Polymarket’s 2026 midterms contract gave a full Republican sweep a 7% chance in early October, versus 65% for a Democratic sweep and 29% for a split Congress, with more than $16 million in trading volume. Tariff revenue remains insufficient to fund the proposal, while Trump’s unfulfilled DOGE and tariff-dividend pledges add to skepticism. For now, markets are more likely to view the payment promise as campaign rhetoric than an immediate Bitcoin catalyst.
