Riot Platforms disclosed that chief data center officer Jonathan Gibbs has departed after helping lead the company’s shift from Bitcoin mining toward AI-HPC and hyperscale-oriented infrastructure. The company said Gibbs forfeited more than 1.1 million unvested shares valued at about $18.7 million. Riot also said it used excess capacity at its Corsicana site for AI-HPC workloads, sold 3,778 BTC for about $290 million in the first quarter of 2026 to support its infrastructure strategy, and reported $647 million in annual revenue for 2025.
