According to Berkshire Hathaway’s Q1 13F filing, the firm cut overall U.S. equity holdings while adding more than 36 million Alphabet shares during a quarter of heavy stock sales.
Berkshire Hathaway’s first-quarter 13F filing showed net stock sales of about $8.15 billion, reflecting roughly $16 billion in purchases and about $24 billion in sales. The filing also showed an increased Alphabet stake by more than 36 million shares, bringing Berkshire’s holding to 5.93%. Its U.S. equity portfolio value fell to $26.3 billion from $27.4 billion, and the number of positions dropped from 42 to 29.
