According to Lighter, third-party verifier L2BEAT confirmed a withdrawal mechanism that lets users move funds from its Layer-2 network to Ethereum without permission if the sequencer fails.
Lighter said L2BEAT, an independent Layer-2 tracking and research platform, verified the exchange’s escape mechanism. The feature is designed to let users withdraw funds from Lighter’s Layer-2 network to Ethereum without permission if the sequencer fails. Lighter also said this makes it the first Layer-2 perpetual decentralized exchange to reach that milestone. In Layer-2 systems, an escape mechanism is meant to reduce custody and operational risk by giving users a path to recover assets even when core infrastructure is unavailable.
