Mastercard has partnered with Chainlink to create a direct fiat-to-crypto gateway for its cardholders, with the collaboration reported on May 29. The system is designed to let billions of Mastercard users buy digital assets directly in onchain smart contracts while seeking to meet regulatory compliance requirements. In the existing structure, Shift4 Payments processes card transactions, Zero Hash handles compliance, custody routing, and instant settlement, and Chainlink connects the payment flow to Swapper Finance, which sources liquidity from Uniswap and other decentralized exchanges.
