Banks have implemented the latest requirements for opening and managing mainland investors' accounts under standards similar to the extra measures used by the SFC (Hong Kong securities regulator), Hong Kong's Monetary Authority said. The authority added that it maintains close, regular communication with mainland regulators. Mainland residents can invest through legal cross-border channels, including Wealth Management Connect (legal cross-border investment channel), Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect.
