Summary

Gate said it will launch live trading for the VOLX_USDT perpetual contract at 6:00 UTC on June 6, 2026, offering long and short positions with leverage ranging from 1x to 20x, while proceeding with plans to delist the VIX perpetual futures market on June 8. The exchange previously said VIX_USDT will move into reduce-only mode at 07:30 UTC before trading halts at 08:00 UTC, with open positions settled using the average Index Price from the 30 minutes before delisting and unfilled maker orders canceled automatically. Gate has said the VIX perpetual futures trading pairs were renamed as VOLX and that the change affects trading symbols only, with the VOLX contracts keeping the same underlying assets and trading rules as the original VIX contracts. In its latest notice, Gate described VOLX, or Volatility Index, as measuring the market’s annualized implied volatility for the S&P 500 over the next 30 days, and said launch timing and trading parameters may be adjusted based on market conditions.
