Arab media reports say Iran wants three months to negotiate nuclear file details, exposing a gap with the U.S. president’s deadline.
U.S. President Donald Trump has told mediators he will not accept negotiations lasting more than 60 days and wants Iran to respond to the proposal as soon as possible. The messages between Washington and Tehran are currently being relayed through Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, according to Al Arabiya, citing people familiar with the matter. A separate source said Pakistan’s interior minister will travel to Iran to discuss a path toward a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. At the same time, Saudi outlet Al Hadath reported that Iran wants a three-month negotiating period on the details of the nuclear file, creating a clear mismatch with Trump’s 60-day limit.
