The UK High Court held a procedural hearing on June 5 over disposal of assets in the Qian Zhimin case, which involves about 60,000 BTC and other assets. About 16,000 Chinese victims had registered through UK law firms by May 22 to seek civil recovery under the Proceeds of Crime Act, less than 13% of roughly 128,000 Lantian Gerui victims, with deduplication still pending. The judge ordered the firms to pay their proportional share of GBP 190,000 into a court account by 4 p.m. on June 26 and set a July hearing on the applicable law issue.
