The 26-member body will meet twice a year to examine blockchain use in public services and development, with potential influence on standards, policy and ethical adoption.
The United Nations Development Programme said on June 8 that its Blockchain Advisory Group, launched at Paris Proof of Talk 2026, is intended to advance blockchain use in global development and public services. The body held its first meeting under UNDP Associate Administrator Xu Haoliang and focused on inclusive and digital finance. It plans to meet twice a year and currently includes 26 organizations, among them the Algorand, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Cardano, Ethereum, Stellar and Sui foundations, as well as Kraken and Cointelegraph. The initiative could help shape blockchain standards globally, influencing policy discussions and broader efforts to promote ethical technology adoption.
