Financial services officials launched a development plan aimed at attracting more multinational treasury centers to Hong Kong and helping existing operations expand through the city’s financial ecosystem.
Hong Kong’s government has launched the Hong Kong Action Plan on Corporate Treasury Centre Development, setting out targeted measures to strengthen the city’s role as a major hub for multinational corporate treasury centers. Christopher Hui announced the plan on June 9 at the Corporate Treasury Centre Forum, saying it is designed both to attract more multinational companies to establish corporate treasury centers in Hong Kong and to help existing centers in the city expand. The plan was jointly prepared by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, the Inland Revenue Department, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Invest Hong Kong, and is intended to reinforce Hong Kong’s role as a platform for companies to enter and expand outward using its broader financial ecosystem.
