China’s National Development and Reform Commission, or NDRC, said it will fully implement the “AI+” action plan as part of broader efforts to support economic growth, infrastructure expansion and artificial intelligence development. Chairman Zheng Shanjie said the agency will fully use macro policies, strengthen planning and construction of water, power, computing and communications networks, and study targeted, operational policy tools for rollout when needed to support steadier economic improvement. Separate reporting described a planned $295 billion investment in a data center network aimed at boosting China’s AI capabilities and advancing technological self-sufficiency, with possible spillover effects on global semiconductor markets and Western firms tied to AI infrastructure and chip supply chains.
