LG Electronics is developing a trial blockchain advertising network on Arbitrum, adding a fresh enterprise use case for the Ethereum scaling platform. The project is being handled by LG’s R&D blockchain team in collaboration with an unnamed Japanese advertising agency, and the companies are exploring a 2026 launch. Earlier reporting said the system had already completed a pilot with a Japanese advertising company and that LG planned to assess its commercial potential later this year. The network is intended to support digital ad trading, management and user interaction tracking, using onchain transactions to improve transparency and efficiency. ARB rose more than 5% after the news, according to HTX market data. The initiative builds on LG’s broader blockchain activity, including Monachain through LG CNS, the Wallypto crypto wallet, participation in the Bank of Korea’s Project Han River pilot around AI agentic payments via deposit tokens, and its now-closed Art Lab NFT marketplace. It also comes as other companies develop blockchains tailored to media and intellectual property, including Sony’s Soneium on Optimism and Story’s IP-focused network.
