EXIO Limited said one site was fraudulent and two others were unrelated to its licensed virtual asset trading platform, while the regulator also separated chenguanginvestment from Capital International.
Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC, the city’s securities regulator) added three exiovip-related websites to its alert list of suspicious virtual asset trading platforms on June 12, highlighting fresh concerns over websites presenting themselves as connected to licensed crypto businesses. EXIO Limited, a licensed virtual asset trading platform, said one of the websites was fraudulent and that the other two had no connection to the company. The SFC also said chenguanginvestment was unrelated to the licensed firm Capital International, underscoring the regulator’s effort to distinguish licensed entities from potentially misleading online operators.
