Pudgy Penguins has formally shut down its mobile game Pudgy Party and is redirecting its gaming efforts to Pudgy World as its sole game project. The closure follows the title’s August 2025 launch with Mythical Games and comes after Pudgy Party had built a sizable audience, including 98,200 followers on X, while drawing community criticism from players who said their time and money in the game may now be lost. Pudgy World, launched in March 2026 as a free browser game set in “The Berg,” is designed to feel like a mainstream game with most blockchain features kept out of the foreground and includes 12 towns, story-driven quests and mini-games. On its March launch day, the PENGU token rose 9%; it was trading at $0.006793 with a market cap of about $427 million as of the latest CoinMarketCap data. The shutdown also comes as Pudgy Penguins continues expanding beyond NFTs through consumer products and partnerships, while facing a trademark infringement lawsuit filed in Florida by PEI Licensing, parent of the Original Penguin apparel brand.
