Ripple is expanding its push into agent payments with an XRPL AI Starter Kit designed to bring XRP and Ripple USD into automated transactions by software agents using x402-based payments on XRP Ledger. The move targets a market where programs can pay for services directly, but early activity appears concentrated on other networks. CoinDesk said x402 transactions on Base have topped 100 million and exceeded 120 million across chains, underscoring an early lead outside XRPL. Ripple has not disclosed production-scale customers or transaction data for its effort, leaving its commercial traction unclear even as it argues XRPL’s speed, low fees and RLUSD could make the ledger competitive for AI-linked payment flows.
