India bought €5.8 billion ($6.7 billion) of Russian fossil fuels in May, maintaining its position as the world’s second-largest buyer of Russian energy. Russian crude oil dominated the total at €4.8 billion, equal to 83% of the monthly import bill, while oil products contributed €550 million and coal imports reached €429 million. The figures underline India’s continued role as a major outlet for Russian energy exports.
