Users must bridge wallet assets to Ethereum before the deadline, while DeFi holdings require manual withdrawal and unclaimed auto-migrated balances will be treated as abandoned after Dec. 31, 2027.
Polygon Labs said it will shut down the Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta sequencer on July 1, 2026, following a timeline it first published in June 2025. The closure means users need to move wallet assets to Ethereum through ui.agglayer.dev before the cutoff. DeFi (decentralized finance) assets cannot be migrated automatically, so those positions must be withdrawn manually. Polygon Labs also said any balances that are auto-migrated but remain unclaimed after Dec. 31, 2027 will be deemed abandoned.
