France’s cybersecurity agency ANSSI said it will stop certifying security products that lack quantum-resistant encryption from 2027 and advised companies to buy only quantum-safe products before 2030. Because ANSSI certification is mandatory for French government bodies and critical infrastructure operators, the policy effectively begins phasing out older encryption systems in those sectors. The move strengthens France’s cybersecurity requirements and could accelerate wider adoption of post-quantum protections as vendors and buyers adapt products and procurement plans to future quantum-computing risks.
