The company said it plans to offer crypto-asset services across the European Union once approval is granted and all regulatory steps are completed.
Bitget EU said it has applied to the Austrian Financial Market Authority, or FMA (Austria’s financial regulator), for authorization as a crypto-asset service provider under the European Union’s MiCAR framework (Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation). If the authorization is granted and the remaining regulatory steps are completed, the company said it intends to provide crypto-asset services in the EU within the scope of that approval. The statement also said existing Bitget Global customers will continue to be governed by current contractual and legal arrangements, and that the filing does not change those terms. Bitget added that customer funds remain safe, while stressing that access to assets remains subject to platform terms and conditions. It also framed the announcement as informational only, saying it is not an offer or solicitation where prior authorization is required, and that the timing, scope and outcome of the application remain subject to the FMA’s assessment.
