Tokenized stocks are attracting broad attention, Galaxy's head of research said in a post on X, outlining how most of the market currently breaks into two main models aside from Operate. One is an issuer-backed structure, represented by GLXY, and the other is a third-party-backed approach used by projects such as Ondo and xStocks. Coinbase has also said it will launch its own version, though it has not yet explained the mechanics. The distinction matters because tokenized stocks (blockchain-based representations of equities) can be structured in different ways depending on who provides the backing and how investor exposure is created.
